Battle of the Bands

Music in Place hosted the 2026 MusicNomad Battle of the Bands, a youth-led band competition culminating in a live event from 12 pm to 5 pm on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at the Grinstead Amphitheater on the Sonoma Plaza.

This years 2nd Annual Battle of the Bands took place on Saturday, May 16 from 12–5 PM at the Grinstead Amphitheater in Sonoma Plaza. This free, family-friendly event featured Northern California’s top middle and high school garage bands competing live for top prizes. The community cheered on emerging talent, soaked up the energy, and grabbed delicious from The Butcherman food truck while enjoying the show. It’s was a day of great music, great food, with the next generation of artists in action.
