Music in Place is delighted to welcome the Windsor String Orchestra as a part of our Education Programming. Led by founder and conductor Pam Otsuka, the Windsor String Orchestra is a community string ensemble that brings musicians of all ages and experience levels together to rehearse, perform, and make music in a welcoming and supportive environment.
The Fall 2026 season runs from August 24 through December 7, 2026, with rehearsals held on Mondays at Windsor Community United Methodist Church. Throughout the season, musicians will rehearse together and prepare for a culminating holiday concert.
The orchestra welcomes violin, viola, cello, and string bass players who can read music. Beginners, returning musicians, and experienced players are all encouraged to participate. Previous ensemble experience is helpful but not required.
For 13 years, Pam Otsuka has built the Windsor String Orchestra into a unique intergenerational musical community, where grandparents, parents, and grandchildren, as well as mothers and sons, have the opportunity to perform side by side.
About Pam Otsuka, Conductor & Founder
Pam Otsuka leads the Windsor String Orchestra, bringing decades of experience as a violinist, violist, conductor, and educator. She serves as concertmaster of the Sonoma County Philharmonic and is the founder of Sonoma Strings. A dedicated mentor and clinician, Otsuka is committed to musical growth, ensemble collaboration, and making high-quality music accessible to musicians of all levels.
